John Cage

John Cage (5 September 1912 – 12 August 1992) was an American composer and music theorist associated with experimental and avant‑garde music. He developed techniques of indeterminacy and chance operations, created the prepared piano to alter its timbre, and explored silence and non‑traditional sound sources.
