Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano
Album by John Cage & Nora Skuta
Sonatas and Interludes is a cycle for prepared piano by John Cage, in which the instrument is modified with screws, bolts, rubber and other objects to create varied percussive sonorities. Drawing on the Indian rasa aesthetic, it explores contrasting emotional states within an avant-garde/experimental classical idiom.
