Atlas Eclipticalis
Album by John Cage & Eberhard Blum
Atlas Eclipticalis is a composition by American composer John Cage, completed in 1961–62. The work employs graphic notation adapted from star charts and chance operations to create an open-form orchestral score in which instrumentation and temporal ordering are left to performers' discretion, and it exemplifies Cage's indeterminate approach and exploration of non-traditional sound sources.
First released: 1992
