Jaki Liebezeit
Jaki Liebezeit was a German drummer, born in Dresden in 1938, who came to prominence as a founding member of the experimental rock band Can in 1968 and worked across krautrock, avant-garde rock and jazz-influenced contexts throughout his career. His drumming combined a metronomic, 'motorik' pulse with jazz subtlety and minimalist restraint, a style that shaped rhythmic approaches in post-punk and other experimental music scenes.
