Michael Karoli (1948–2001) was a German musician who co-founded the krautrock band Can in Cologne in 1968 and established his career as a guitarist, violinist and occasional vocalist within experimental rock and avant-garde music. His style blended rock, psychedelic and improvisational elements with an emphasis on repetitive grooves, textural guitar lines and studio-based experimentation, and he continued to explore these approaches in later solo and collaborative projects.
