Lloyd Cole and the Commotions

Lloyd Cole and the Commotions are a British band formed in Glasgow in 1984 that emerged in the mid-1980s indie pop scene, combining elements of jangle pop, alternative rock and sophisti-pop. Their music featured literate, narrative lyrics set against chiming guitars and melodic arrangements, and across their career they moved from jangly, guitar-driven songs to more polished pop-rock production while being part of the UK post-punk/indie milieu of the 1980s.
