The Housemartins
The Housemartins are an English indie pop and jangle pop band formed in Hull, East Yorkshire, in 1983, emerging from the mid-1980s alternative music scene. Their music combined jangly guitar-driven indie pop with soul and gospel-influenced harmonies and politically conscious lyrics, and over a brief career they incorporated a cappella arrangements alongside conventional band instrumentation.
