The Roland TR-606 is a drum machine manufactured by Roland and introduced in 1981. It influenced electronic genres such as acid house and early techno through its use alongside the TB-303, and it was adopted by experimental electronic artists such as Aphex Twin and Autechre as well as by some post-punk and indie musicians, and it changed the way producers built rhythmic patterns and textures.
