Portishead

Portishead are an English band from Bristol, formed in 1991, whose music is commonly categorised as trip hop and electronic. Their sound blends cinematic, noir-influenced atmospheres, sample-based production and slow, hip-hop-derived beats with live instrumentation, and across their career they shifted from heavily sample-driven arrangements to darker, more varied electronic textures while remaining associated with the Bristol trip hop scene.
