Conrad Schnitzler was a German experimental electronic musician who emerged in the late 1960s in West Berlin, taking part in the early Kosmische scene and helping to found groups such as Tangerine Dream and Kluster before embarking on a prolific solo career. His work encompassed synthesiser-based compositions, tape manipulation, noise and musique concrète, with an extensive catalogue of self-released tapes and albums that spanned electronic, ambient and industrial approaches and intersected with Berlin's experimental art and underground scenes.
