The Beat

The Beat are an English ska and new wave band formed in Birmingham in 1978. They combined Jamaican ska and reggae rhythms with punk and pop influences, were associated with the late-1970s/early-1980s ska revival, and later incorporated wider pop and studio production techniques into their sound.
