Frank Black

Frank Black (1894-1968) was an American conductor, arranger and music director who served as the music director of NBC from 1928 through the 1940s. He studied in New York with pianist Rafael Joseffy and arranged musicals for Gershwin, Ziegfeld, Kern, and Rodgers & Hart before joining NBC, where he led orchestral programs of light classical music and championed rarely performed American works.
