Calvin Johnson is an American singer, songwriter and musician from Olympia, Washington, who founded the independent label K Records in 1982. He co-founded the lo-fi indie pop band Beat Happening and has been involved in projects such as The Halo Benders and Dub Narcotic Sound System, with work that engages a DIY ethos and minimalist pop and punk-influenced styles.
