The Brandenburg Concertos and Orchestral Suites are collections of orchestral works by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed in the early 18th century (c. 1717–1721). They exemplify Baroque orchestral style, employing concerto grosso textures, contrasts between soloists and ensemble, and stylised dance movements, and they occupy a central place in Bach's instrumental output and in the development of the orchestral and concerto genres.
