Planetary Unfolding is a studio album by American ambient composer Michael Stearns, released in 1981. The album features long-form, synthesiser-based ambient pieces characterised by slowly evolving drones, cosmic textures and expansive electronic atmospheres, and it documents Stearns's shift toward large-scale, space-oriented soundscapes in his early career.
