Michael Stearns

Michael Stearns is an American composer and electronic musician who began his career in the 1970s, emerging from the ambient and new-age scenes and later working on film soundtracks. His work blends modular synthesiser-based drones, sequenced textures and acoustic instrumentation to create expansive, long-form pieces associated with cosmic and meditative themes, and he contributed music to feature films and documentary projects.
