East Coasting

East Coasting is an album by American jazz bassist and composer Charles Mingus, released in 1957. The album features hard bop and post-bop arrangements with prominent ensemble interplay, blues-influenced motifs and taut horn voicings, and represents a late-1950s phase in Mingus's career where he was consolidating his compositional approach between small-group intensity and larger-scale ambition.
