Improvisation

Improvisation music, which really hit its stride in the early 20th century, is like a spontaneous musical conversation where everyone is trying to one-up each other whilst attempting to look cool. It often sounds like skilled musicians having a delightful debate with their instruments, layering unexpected notes and rhythms, all while feigning casualness. Just remember, if you ever get the chance to hear a jazz improvisation, it may not always sound like a masterpiece, but the effort to make it seems meaningful can be quite charming.
