Tripelkonzert C-dur op.56

Album by Ludwig van Beethoven & David Fiodorovich Oistrakh & Mstislav Rostropovich & Sviatoslav Richter & Berliner Philharmoniker & Herbert von Karajan

The Triple Concerto in C major, Op. 56 is a concerto by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed in 1803. Scored for violin, cello and piano with orchestra, it combines Classical concerto forms with Beethoven's emerging Romantic expressiveness, emphasising chamber-like dialogue between the soloists and orchestral colour and occupying a distinctive place in his middle-period output as one of his few works that unite multiple soloists with symphonic forces.
First released: 7th December 2011
