Alternative is a compilation album by English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys, released in 1995. Compiled from B-sides recorded between 1985 and 1994, it presents a broad range of electronic, synth-pop and dance-oriented material that emphasises the duo's experimentation with darker textures and more expansive arrangements, and serves as a document of their musical development across the late 1980s and early 1990s.
