Spleen and Ideal is the second studio album by Dead Can Dance, released in 1985. It blends gothic rock and darkwave with synthesiser textures and growing neoclassical and world-music elements, and it was an early step in the band's move from post-punk roots toward the medieval-influenced sound of later albums.
