The SH-101 is an analogue synthesizer manufactured by Roland and introduced in 1982. It influenced acid house, techno and electro, and producers such as Aphex Twin and Richie Hawtin used it for sequenced basslines and lead parts, which made sequencer-driven patterns and on-the-fly sound shaping common in electronic production.
