The Jupiter-8 is an analogue synthesizer manufactured by Roland and released in 1981. It has eight-voice polyphony with two oscillators per voice, analogue subtractive synthesis with a resonant voltage-controlled filter, programmable patch memory and keyboard split and layer functions, and it is frequently heard on 1980s pop, synth-pop and film-score recordings for its pads and brass tones.
