Improvisational Music

Improvisational music began in the early 20th century, largely taking root in jazz scenes where musicians decided that rehearsing was overrated and spontaneous expression was far more exciting. It often sounds like an enthusiastic jam session where everyone is both a little lost and blissfully free, creating a delightful cacophony that could either be a masterpiece or a complete train wreck. This genre has produced some head-scratchingly brilliant moments, and there's nothing quite like seeing musicians engage in a game of 'Who can be the most inventive with absolutely no plan whatsoever.'
