Blues Rock

Blues Rock emerged in the 1960s, primarily in the UK and the US, when guitarists decided that playing the blues was far too melancholic and needed a bit more swagger, possibly with a side of leather jackets. It combines the soulful depth of blues with the audacious riffs of rock, creating a sound that's both mournful and likely to make your neighbours very cross if played too loudly. This genre has gifted the world a blend of heartfelt lyrics and the unwritten rule that every performance must involve at least one impressive guitar solo, preferably whilst posing dramatically.
