Dexys Midnight Runners

Dexys Midnight Runners are an English pop and soul-influenced band formed in Birmingham in 1978, emerging from the late-1970s new wave and post-punk scene. Their sound combined Motown-style soul, driving brass arrangements and later Celtic-folk influences, evolving through changes in personnel and aesthetic to encompass both danceable pop/soul tracks and more reflective, folk-tinged material that engaged with British youth culture.
