Anne Schwanewilms is a German operatic soprano from Gelsenkirchen who began her professional career in the 1990s and is primarily associated with late-Romantic and 20th-century opera repertoire. Her repertoire emphasises works by Richard Strauss, Gustav Mahler and composers of the Second Viennese School, and her musical approach has evolved from lyric roles into more dramatic, expressionist parts focusing on psychologically intense characters across European opera houses.
