Symphonie No. 2 is the second symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1894 and first performed in 1895. A large-scale late-Romantic work that integrates expansive orchestration with choral and solo vocal forces in its finale, it explores themes of life, death and resurrection and represents one of Mahler's early mature experiments in combining song-like material with symphonic structure.
