Agnes Giebel

Agnes Giebel was a German classical soprano, born in Heerlen in 1921, who began her professional career in the late 1940s and specialised in sacred repertoire, oratorio and lieder. She was closely associated with performances of Baroque and early Classical sacred works, particularly cantatas and oratorios, and her long recording career documented central repertory for German sacred music in the mid-20th century.
