Symphony No. 8 is the eighth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, composed in 1906. It is one of Mahler's late large-scale works, scored for very large forces including multiple choirs, soloists and an expanded orchestra, and is cast in two broad parts that juxtapose sacred and secular texts within a late-Romantic idiom.
