The Jesus and Mary Chain

The Jesus and Mary Chain are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in East Kilbride in 1983. Their early work fused 1960s pop songwriting with heavy feedback and distortion — notably on their 1985 debut album Psychocandy — and their lyrics explored themes of love, violence and alienation within noise-pop and shoegaze contexts.
