Paal Nilssen-Love

Paal Nilssen-Love is a Norwegian jazz drummer and bandleader who began his career in the early 1990s and is associated with free jazz, avant-garde jazz and improvised music. He is noted for high-energy, polyrhythmic playing and a focus on collective improvisation, with work spanning solo projects, small ensembles and large improvising groups that explore the boundary between composition and spontaneous creation within the contemporary European jazz scene.
