Billy Talent are a Canadian rock band formed in Mississauga, Ontario, in 1993, originally performing under the name Pezz before adopting their current name as they entered the late-1990s punk and alternative scene. Their music blends punk rock, post-hardcore and alternative rock with driving guitars, urgent vocals and socially conscious lyrics, and over successive albums they incorporated more melodic and experimental elements while retaining a hook-driven, direct songcraft.
