Hossam Ramzy was an Egyptian percussionist, composer and arranger who began his career in Cairo in the 1970s and worked across traditional Arabic, Egyptian and broader Middle Eastern musical genres. His work blended traditional Arabic rhythms and instruments with Western pop, world music and orchestral arrangements, and he contributed percussion and arrangements to international recordings, film scores and live performances that integrated Middle Eastern percussion into global music projects.
