Ivo Žídek
Ivo Žídek was a Czech operatic tenor born in Prostějov in 1926 who began his professional career in the late 1940s and spent much of his career at the National Theatre in Prague. He was associated chiefly with Czech repertoire — notably works by Smetana, Janáček and Dvořák — and his lyrical-tenor style and later institutional roles contributed to the performance and preservation of mid-20th-century Czech opera.
