Jurassic 5 are an American hip hop group formed in Los Angeles in 1993, emerging from the city's underground scene and drawing on classic hip hop, funk and soul influences. Their music emphasises tight, block-style vocal interplay, sample-based production and prominent turntablism, and across their career they were associated with the late-1990s and early-2000s alternative hip hop movement before splitting into a hiatus and later reuniting for subsequent tours and releases.
