Don Henley is an American singer-songwriter and drummer from Gilmer, Texas, who began his career in the late 1960s and rose to prominence as a founding member of the rock band the Eagles, working primarily in rock, country rock and soft rock. His songwriting and solo work have combined melodic rock and pop with lyrical themes of personal reflection, Californian life and social commentary, and he has been involved in both band and solo projects while also engaging with environmental and civic issues.
