The Mamas & the Papas

The Mamas & the Papas were an American folk‑rock vocal group formed in Los Angeles in 1965, performing a fusion of folk, pop and rock throughout the mid‑1960s. Known for their close four‑part harmonies and polished studio arrangements, they were associated with the California counterculture and Laurel Canyon scene and left a marked influence on subsequent pop vocal groups and arrangements.
