Aria Variata, BWV 989 is a keyboard composition by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed around 1720. The work consists of variations on an aria for keyboard, characterised by Baroque contrapuntal textures and ornamented melodic lines, and occupies a place in Bach's keyboard repertoire as an example of his engagement with the variation form during his early to middle career.
