Six Piano Concertos, op. 4
Album by George Frideric Handel & Matthias Kirschnereit & Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss am Rhein & Lavard Skou-Larsen
Six Keyboard Concertos, Op. 4 is a set of six keyboard concertos by Georg Friedrich Händel, published in 1738. Rooted in the Baroque idiom, the concertos foreground a solo keyboard against orchestral forces with ornate melodic writing, dance-derived rhythms and dramatic contrasts that reflect Händel's operatic and choral experience and mark a contribution to his later London-period output and to the development of the keyboard concerto genre.
