Clarinet Concertos Nos. 1 And 2
Album by Carl Maria von Weber & Benny Goodman & Chicago Symphony Orchestra & Jean Martinon
Clarinet Concertos Nos. 1 and 2 are two concertos by German composer Carl Maria von Weber, composed in the early 1810s and completed around 1811–1813. These Romantic-era works for solo clarinet and orchestra combine virtuosic solo writing with lyrical melodies and classical forms, and they played a key role in expanding the clarinet's technical and expressive possibilities within early 19th-century orchestral repertoire.
