Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 77 is a violin concerto by German composer Johannes Brahms, composed in 1878. The work combines Romantic-era symphonic breadth with virtuosic solo writing, characterised by expansive orchestral textures, lyrical themes and technically demanding passages, and it represents Brahms's major concerto contribution from his mature period.
