Tauhid
Album by Pharoah Sanders
Tauhid is an album by American saxophonist Pharoah Sanders, released in 1967. Musically it exemplifies the spiritual and free-jazz currents of the late 1960s, with extended modal improvisations, a raw, overblown tenor saxophone tone and drone-like percussion and world-music-influenced textures, and it sits at a transitional point as Sanders established his voice following earlier sideman work and contributed to the era's more exploratory directions in jazz.
