Partsongs - From the Bavarian Highlands
Album by Edward Elgar & Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks & Howard Arman
Partsongs – From the Bavarian Highlands is a set of part-songs by the English composer Edward Elgar, composed and published in 1896. The music uses folk-influenced melodies, close choral harmonies and light piano accompaniment to evoke Bavarian character, and the collection represents an early example of Elgar's vocal-ensemble writing that precedes his later orchestral works.
