Symphony no. 3

Album by Gustav Mahler & Anne Gjevang & Københavns Drengekor & DR SymfoniOrkestret & Danish National Radio Choir & Leif Segerstam

Symphony No. 3 is the third symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1896. Across its vast, multi-movement structure it employs massive orchestration, including expanded brass, strings, percussion and voices, moving from nature-inspired passages to more introspective, spiritual sections and representing a significant step in Mahler's development toward large-scale, programmatic symphonic writing that bridged late Romanticism and early modernism.
