Symphony no. 5
Album by Anton Bruckner & The Philadelphia Orchestra & Wolfgang Sawallisch
Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major is the fifth symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, completed in 1876. The large-scale late-Romantic orchestral work is characterised by dense contrapuntal writing, expansive brass chorales and an intricate formal architecture that marks a significant moment in Bruckner's symphonic development and in the Austro-German symphonic tradition.
