Die Vier Jahreszeiten, 6 Concerti Op.8
Album by Antonio Vivaldi & Federico Agostini & I Musici
Die Vier Jahreszeiten (The Four Seasons) is a set of four violin concertos by Antonio Vivaldi, first published in 1725 as part of his Op.8 collection. The works exemplify Baroque concerto style, featuring virtuosic solo violin passages set against ritornello-driven string textures and programme-driven depictions of seasonal scenes, and they occupy a significant place in Vivaldi's output and in the development of the Italian solo concerto and early programme music.
First released: 1990
