Cantatas, BWV 169–171 is a collection of sacred cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed in the early 18th century (circa 1717–1726). These Baroque works combine vocal soloists, choir and chamber orchestra with contrapuntal writing, expressive arioso passages and prominent obbligato instrumental lines, illustrating Bach's liturgical and compositional practice during his Weimar and Leipzig periods.
