I Am Sitting in a Room is a 1969 tape composition by American composer Alvin Lucier. The work uses repeated tape playback to transform spoken text into resonant tones and was an early example of Lucier's focus on acoustic phenomena and process-based composition within experimental and electroacoustic music.
