Album by Johannes Brahms & The Hollywood String Quartet
String Quartet No. 2 in A minor, Op. 51 No. 2 is a string quartet by Johannes Brahms, composed in 1873. Rooted in Romantic chamber music, it combines dense, Beethoven-influenced harmonic language and contrapuntal textures with expressive lyricism, and marks Brahms's consolidation of his mature chamber style following his return to chamber forms in the early 1870s.
